Twin Cities Foodie Wedding

NOTES: What’s a “foodie” you may be wondering? food·ie noun (INFORMAL)

  1. a person with a particular interest in food; a gourmet.

When I first met Julieta 4+ years ago, we were both working at Boom Island Brewing Company in Minnetonka. Since then I’ve photographed her, Paul, and all their fur babies to mark different life events. I have always known Julieta to be both a #MPLSFoodie (check her out @wholeeeta on instagram) and a craft beer lover. So when Paul and her asked me to capture their intimate Wednesday wedding in Uptown Minneapolis, I was all in!

While the ceremony itself was held with a judge at the Minneapolis Courthouse, the two were celebrating low-key with seven family members at LynLake Brewery and Sooki & Mimi (*Now Kim’s).

First stop: LynLake Brewery — a staple in the Minnesota Craft Beer community for years, has an amazing selection of brews for all tastes and a staff that is so accommodating and sweet.

Second stop: Sookie & Mimi (*Now Kim’s)— who describe themself as an “Airy, woodsy eatery with 2 bars serving Mexican & Korean sharing plates, plus a fixed menu.” This description is spot on — with a cozy environment and unexpected yet delicious dishes (including Vegetarian-friendly plates!).

Oh, did I mention it completely downpoured that evening and we totally got to play in the rain??? Scroll all the way down to check out the results!
